Assistance and Help

A common way for single parents to seek and receive help is over the internet by conversing with other single parents in similar situations. In the World, website discussions over single parenting problems are just starting to become popular. Today, there are various websites available, offering discussion forums and helpful advice to those parents who find themselves alone. Other websites help by offering single parents to support each other while also providing highly useful links to various solicitors, counselors and financial advisers.

Many western countries have national or local organizations that offer support specifically for single parents and/or lobby the government on their behalf. In the Philippines, single parenting has not been part of the major political landscape, so there is no relevant legislation that protects and promotes the welfare of single parents.

There is no doubt these are difficult economic times for all parents, but more particularly for parents who have only one source of income. Single parents must have several income streams and operating a home-based business is one way to increase the bottom line.

Consider operating one of the 10 home-based businesses found in the internet. None involves a lot of start-up money and, although they won’t make you a millionaire, at least they will allow you to provide for the additional needs of your family.
